Color Palettes To Help Heal ADHD and Depression

We all know that when we see color, it makes us feel a certain way. Blue and green are very calming. Red, yellow, and orange have more energy, pink is relaxing, and purple may make us feel fun and flirty or Spiritual. All these feelings depend on you as an individual and the experiences and memories you’ve had with these hues. However, if you have medical issues, some colors will help, and some will hinder you.
Over the years, I’ve had several clients with special color needs. One client had lost a child, several clients suffered from depression and ADHD, some clients had drug addictions, and on a lighter note, even Doctors sought my advice for colors for their offices.

You see, color is not just pigment on the wall but an element in the home that can help our mind and body heal.
I’d use high-energy colors such as red and orange very sparingly if you have ADHD or a child with Autism. It’s just visually too much to process. For them, I’d stick to blues and greens, to mention a few colors, but you’d have to find out if you can use warm or cool hues. That is based on how the client reacts when they see the color.

I had a client feel the color chips as I suggested colors to her, so having large color swatches with me at my consultations is a must.
Here are some other colors that have general healing properties but will change depending on how YOU feel when YOU see them.

Now I don’t claim to be a Doctor of any sort, but I know the color, and after working with it for over 30 years, I know which colors “feel” better for clients with special color needs. Here are a few that will lift your spirits and, at the very least, should make you smile.
